Triple band set types

Sets with triple-band excitation filters & triple-band emission filters
These filter sets allow for simultaneous visualization of three fluorochromes for live viewing and confirmation of the presence of each fluorochrome, and various screening assays.
NOTE: sets with multi-band excitation filters and multi-band emission filters are not appropriate for imaging with a monochrome camera, which cannot distinguish between colors.

Sets with single-band & triple-band excitation Filters & single-band emission filters
Triple-band filter sets with three single-band excitation filters allow for selective, alternate excitation of each fluorochrome but require the use of excitation filter wheels or sliders that house the three excitation filters.  The triple-band emission filter and triple-band polychroic mirror which are mounted in the filter cube allow visualization of each fluorochrome for live viewing or imaging with a monochrome or color camera.  In some cases it is possible to detect each fluorochrome even when a single-band excitation filter is used. To reduce the likelihood of this type of bleedthrough, the use of sets with single-band emission filters is recommended.

Sets with single-band excitation filters & single-band emission filters
Triple-band filter sets with single-band excitation and single-band emission filters allow for selective imaging of each of three fluorochromes by using excitation and emission filter wheels or sliders.  The filter cube houses only the triple-band polychroic mirror which remains stationary, eliminating much of the source of image registration errors.  This configuration also greatly reduces the likelihood of bleedthrough, which is more likely with triple-band emission filters. Live viewing through the oculars is only possible with an additional triple-band emission filter in the filter cube. These filter sets are particularly useful for co-localization studies, FRET, and simultaneous imaging in live cell applications using image-splitting devices.  Imaging speed with this filter configuration depends only on the speed of the filter wheels and camera.
